DEAD POETS SOCIETY - MACLEAY ISLAND

Macleay Island performing and visual Artists, calling themselves the “Dead Parrot Society” meet every Monday night 6pm at the Blue Parrot Restaurant for Philosophical Talk on Art in Today’s Society amongst other things.

Register now for the 2012  Ozfrank  Summer Actor Training Workshop Brisbane.  Ozfrank Theatre announces director of training, John Nobbs’ election to Suzuki’s International Training Forum!
Tadashi Suzuki, creator of the Suzuki Actor Training Method, selected John, in 2009, to be one of 7 international Suzuki Training practitioners who form the Suzuki Symposium dedicated to the dissemination of his training world-wide. John is the only Australian representative on this Forum who meet regularly with Suzuki in Toga, Japan, to immerse themselves in the study of Suzuki's unique method of actor training.

Ozfrank’s popular Summer Workshop teaching the Frank Suzuki Actor Knowhow celebrates its 19th year in Brisbane. This annual physical theatre summer intensive, will once again be led by Ozfrank theatre’s co-founders John Nobbs and Jacqui Carroll. The aim of this 8 day intensive is to introduce theatre artists, drama teachers, professionals and students, to the physical disciplines which produce bodies and voices which are strong, focussed and adaptable. For those already working within the Frank/Suzuki Actor Knowhow training system it is an opportunity to further refine and develop your skills.

THE REDLAND YOUNG ACTORS GROUP

The 2011 drama classes are held on the first Saturday of each  month. 

Redlands Young Actors Group will present two Shows, one in July and the second in November. Students will also present in the Redlands Speech and Drama Eisteddfod in August and have an opportunity to perform at various events within the Redlands.

Those wishing to audition and become members in 2011, should make contact  with either Valerie Warwick or Terry Larsen to ensure relevant up to date email information can be sent regarding auditions.

A CALL FOR ARTISTS 

Mixed Messages: A Mail Art Project and Exhibition is open to Australian Artists of all ages, coordinated by Emerge.
The Project is about presenting diverse artistic expressions in the structure of mail.
Artists are welcome to use a variety of media and styles to create their works onto postcards, envelopes, boxes, postal cylinders or cardboard of all sizes – with the theme remaining open!

Official opening: Sunday 12 February 2012 2pm – 4pm
