When & Why Was Redlands Arts Council Inc Established ?

The Redland Shire has an extremely active cultural life and a rapidly growing population - currently around 118,000. We have a robust and diverse Arts Community and the need was perceived 10 years ago for our own Arts Council and so Redlands Arts Council was established in November 1991. Initially we operated under the Queensland Arts Council but we became Incorporated in 1995 and now we are a regional branch of Queensland Arts Council.

What Does Redlands Arts Council Inc Do ?

As declared in our Mission Statement and our aims and objectives, our goal is to present a variety of arts and cultural events to the residents of our Community - primarily to the people of the Redland Shire and the Bayside area. We "keep our finger on the pulse" of our Community to identify needs for workshops, exhibitions and performances in particular areas of the Arts. Although we are unable to offer funding to arts oriented individuals and organisations, we work with them and support them to facilitate their own Arts projects.
